Delete your account
YAPPP
If you still have the app
You → Delete account
It happens immediately, and the app tells you what it did before you confirm.
This is the fastest route and the one we recommend.
If you no longer have the app
Email
chiranjeev@yappp.in with the subject "Delete my account"
Send it from the email address you used to sign in. That
address is how we confirm the request is yours — we will not act on a request
to delete an account from someone who cannot receive mail at it, because
otherwise anyone could delete anyone.
If you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, your
address ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com and you may not be
able to send from it. Write from whatever address you can, tell us the relay
address, and we will send a confirmation to the relay — replying to that
proves it reaches you, which is the same check by a different route.
We will confirm within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30.
What gets deleted
- Your name, email address, phone number and home area.
- Your profile photo, deleted outright.
- Your interests, your devices, your notification history.
- Blocks you created.
What happens to your activities
- Upcoming activities you were hosting are cancelled, and everyone who joined is notified — otherwise they would turn up.
- Seats you were holding are released, so somebody else can take them.
- Requests you had pending are withdrawn.
What stays, and why
- An opaque Google account identifier. Nothing about you can be read from it. It is kept so that signing in again cannot silently create a fresh account and undo your deletion.
- Messages and notes you wrote, shown as "Someone who left". Removing one side of a conversation makes it unreadable for the people who were in it.
- Safety reports, both those you filed and any about you. A safety record its subject can erase is not a record.
Deletion cannot be undone. Signing in with the same Google account afterwards will be refused rather than quietly creating a new account.
